In Australia it is currently illegal to buy or sell nicotine E-Liquids, so at Vapora in compliance with Australian laws our E-Liquids do not contain nicotine. However, it is legal to import nicotine products from overseas as long as they are for personal use. So what most our customers choose to do is import their own plain nicotine and add it into locally purchased E-Liquids.

Where do I get nicotine?

We recommend purchasing your nicotine from Hiliq. Hiliq are based in Hong Kong and have built a very successful and reputable business over the past several years shipping nicotine and E-Liquids to customers located all over the world.

What type of nicotine should I get?

We recommend purchasing 100mg/ml nicotine in a base of 100% PG (propylene glycol). 100mg/ml means the nicotine is very strong and you will only need to add a small amount to E-Liquids. Using highly concentrated nicotine like this has several benefits. Firstly, it means there is no dilution of the flavour of your E-Liquids as there can be when adding larger amounts of weaker strength nicotine, and also it makes it much better value as you won’t need to use as much of the nicotine. Another benefit of using nicotine with 100% PG base is that if stored correctly, the nicotine will have a very long shelf life. PG is easier to pour than VG, and as you will be using syringes to draw the nicotine up and then shoot it into your e-liquid, PG is much easier to work with than VG.

You can find a link to the nicotine here.

You can find a 100ml bottle of nicotine here. Depending on the exchange rate of the day it should cost around $45 AUD, and depending on what strength and how much you vape this should be enough nicotine to last quite some time. We recommend choosing the DHL option for shipping, which most of our Melbourne based customers say usually takes 3 business days to arrive.

How do I add the nicotine to my e-liquid?

We recommend purchasing some Syringes for adding the nicotine to your e-liquid, these can be found here. These allow you to measure the nicotine exactly and add the correct amount.

Please be advised nicotine at these kinds of concentrations is poison so we always recommend wearing plastic gloves when adding your nicotine and ensure that it does not come into contact with your skin as this can result in nicotine poisoning.

How should I store the nicotine?

Hiliq advises that their nicotine should be stored between 2 and 8 degrees and in a dark place so we recommend keeping it in your fridge. As the nicotine is poisonous we do recommend storing it securely, for instance, we keep ours in a zip lock bag in a plastic container to ensure it does not cross-contaminate anything else in the fridge. If it is not practical to keep your nicotine in the fridge, a cool dark place is the next best option. Remember always keep your nicotine away from heat and sunlight as these will cause it to degrade. Keep out of reach of children and pets and ensure it is correctly labelled when stored.

What strength should I vape?

It is difficult to advise what strength to use as it varies from person to person and also depends on what type of hardware you are using. So like most aspects of vaping, it can be a bit of trial and error figuring out what works best for you. We usually find most new vapers prefer to start on 6mg. We find this to be a good starting point as it usually isn't too strong so if you require stronger you can always add a bit more, whereas if you make it too strong you can't remove the nicotine to reduce the strength. Some new vapers who like to vape at high wattage (over 50w) will even start on 3mg as these very powerful kits do not require as much nicotine as you get a bigger volume of vape due to the higher wattage. Some new vapers who use mouth to lung kits may prefer a higher nicotine strength like 8mg, 10mg or 12mg, however, we still recommend new users with these type of kits to start on 6mg and add more if they find it is not satisfying their nicotine cravings.

Salt Nicotine

Salt nicotine is a new type of nicotine which is extracted using a different method than freebase nicotine. It is a smoother vape at higher strengths then freebase nicotine. Salt Nicotine at high strengths is designed for use in Pod Vape Kits. These kits are usually more compact, simple kits that are not as powerful as traditional vape kits. Pod kits are pretty much all designed to replicate the draw of a cigarette. Salt Nicotine is more expensive than freebase nicotine but as it is used at higher strengths most vapers who use salt nicotine do not consume as much as those that use freebase nicotine.

You Can find Salt Nicotine Here.

What strength Salt nicotine should I use?

For those that want to use Salt nicotine in a pod style kit we recommend starting a 20mg strength, once again this a midpoint and if this doesn't satisfy your nicotine cravings you can always add some more.
